Well, I have been especially active around here for some time. I've mostly spent that time getting drunk, failing uni and generally having good times, with the occasional foray into costume design and jewelery making.

I'm starting to think seriously about one day finding the monies required for me to study production design - costume and makeup in particular, but for now I'm limited mostly to university balls.

The jewelery venture has been interesting. My friend's mum has a pottery studio where she works and also teaches kids classes - I've been hanging out there with my friend every now and again making porcelain and terracotta beads, hand-painting/glazing them and then stringing them for necklaces. We had big plans to head out to a local market on the 7th February in St Andrews, but unfortunately it burnt down and now all my art stuff is in boxes in my aunt's garage while I look for a place to live.

But I did design a logo for us, which is now posted in the gallery.

I've also been working on a replica of the Horn of Gondor in the studio - using white clay and hopefully glazing with the appropriate whites and blacks. Haven't decided what to do about the gold yet, the detail is too fine to use gold-leaf. I'm giving it to a friend when it's done, essentially because I lost a bet. And, being so certain of my imminent victory, I bet a fictional object of which APPARENTLY, no merchandising company has see fit to create for me.

Also had a shoot for a short film the other day where I did some of the makeup - all zombies which was great, but we had virtually no budget so the fun part was working with pva glue and balloons. unfortunately someone else decided that white acrylic paint would make a good 'base' for their faces. it doesn't.
